• Best Friends’ Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full time veterinary technician/assistant/receptionist.
• Available 32 hours per week and willing to work half-day Saturdays.

Experiences requirements:

• Must be enthusiastic, detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to adapt to situations quickly.
• At least 1 year experience working at a veterinary hospital.
• The ability to work with dogs, cats, birds, and other exotics.

Duties include:

• Assist doctor with appointments
• Set up and maintain autoclave
• Give SQ, IV, IP, and IM injections
• Maintain controlled inventory
• Monitor and treat in-house patients
• Accurately update EMR
• Assist front desk with basic duties

We can teach you, though it's a bonus if you know how to:

• Take digital radiographs
• Draw blood and place IV catheters
• Perform dental prophies
• Use and maintain in-house Abaxis blood and UA analyzers
• Prepare Gram, Diff-Quick, and Acid-Fast cytologies
• Assist doctor during surgery (including monitor anesthesia)

About us:

Located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, we are a small animal practice that works with not only dogs and cats but exotics as well (reptiles, birds, rodents, etc.). We are open Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm, and Saturday 8am to 12pm.

Pay: From $13.50 per hour
