Job Description

Job Title: PCU (Progressive Care Unit) Nurse RN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PCU Nurse RN to join our healthcare team. As a PCU Nurse RN, you will provide direct care and specialized nursing services to patients in the Progressive Care Unit. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients exhibiting progressive or unstable medical conditions. Utilizing your clinical expertise, you will collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote patients' recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by collecting and interpreting medical data, vital signs, and patient histories.

2. Administer medication, manage intravenous therapies, and monitor patients' response to treatment.

3. Analyze diagnostic test results and report any abnormalities or changes in patients' conditions promptly.

4. Provide quality nursing care and maintain accurate patient records, including assessment, interventions, medications, and response to treatment.

5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to plan and implement optimal patient care outcomes.

6. Educate patients and their families about their medical condition, treatment plans, medication, and self-care techniques.

7. Ensure adherence to infection control and safety guidelines to prevent healthcare-associated infections and promote a safe environment for patients and staff.

8. Assist physicians and healthcare professionals during procedures and emergency situations.

9. Foster a supportive and empathetic environment for patients while maintaining their privacy and dignity.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.

2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred, but an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is acceptable.

3. Proven experience working in a Progressive Care Unit or similar critical care setting.

4. Strong clinical skills and ability to interpret and analyze complex medical data accurately.

5. Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.

6. Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations.

7. Expertise in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.

8. Dedication to continuing education and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in critical care nursing.

9. Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

10. Ability to work effectively within a diverse healthcare team.
