Berry Street is Hiring an Operations Manager - Patient Experience Near New York, NY

Berry Street is a business-in-a-box platform enabling registered dietitians to start and scale private practices that accept health insurance. We provide all of the software needed to run a thriving practice administrative services like insurance contracting, eligibility verification, customer support, claims billing, and even patient acquisition.

The Opportunity:

Americans' poor nutrition is killing us (and costing us billions).

  • 3/4 are overweight

We’re on a mission to fundamentally heal America’s relationship with food. Berry Street empowers registered dietitians to launch and grow in-network private practices. About the Role

As an operations manager, you’ll have ownership over a discrete set of functions that are fundamental to the ongoing health and explosive growth of the company. You’ll immediately oversee the training and ongoing management of a team of customer experience associates executing important tasks. As the first customer experience operations manager will have the unique opportunity to get boots-on-the-ground experience building a best-in-class customer experience function while also interfacing directly with our founders and senior management. Your most important role will be contributing to the continually improving efficiency of the business, both by ruthlessly streamlining systems/processes as well as by distilling critical learnings from your unique perspective within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage remote customer service team lead(s) associates
  • Provide highest-level ticket escalation for patients
  • Manage remote benefit check team lead(s) associates
  • Identify and escalate critical product / system / support issues
  • Document and own customer service process documentation and iteration
  • Establish and track target metrics for success
  • Advocate for product enhancements which provide the patient experience or reduce the work of your team
  • You have 4 years of work experience in operations, customer experience, and/or customer success, ideally at a high-growth startup
  • You have 2 years people management experience
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You're an analytical thinker (experience structuring data in business intelligence tools is plus) and can break down complex issues into actionable insights
  • You are comfortable with tech and are often an early adopter
  • You are empathetic - able to feel the emotions of others and diffuse tough situations with composure
  • Team player capable of working cross functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
