Job Summary

This position includes working directly with patients, providers, other medical assistants, and a variety of administrative staffs.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties may include, but not be limited to, taking vital signs, reconciling medication, doing an MA assessment of patient condition, charting in electronic health records, gathering demographic and insurance information, administering injections, assisting with out-patient procedures, mobility assistance, specimen collections and processing, laboratory testing (must be comfortable with drawing blood), administrative work including scheduling, verifying insurance and/or obtaining insurance authorizations, communicating with patients and other medical offices and pharmacies by phone and electronic format, sorting and responding to faxes, electronic sorting and attaching of medical records, and more.

Qualifications and Skills

Desired qualities/qualifications:

- Minimum of 1 year experience as a medical assistant

- Certificate of Medical Assisting from accredited school

- High school graduate (or equivalent) or higher degree

- CPT1 Phlebotomy - Not required but PREFERRED

- Bilingual not required but desired. Be clear which languages and your aptitude for written and spoken ability to translate for providers.

- Experience in clinical and/or health admin - Not required but PREFERRED

- Knowledge in EPIC- Not required but PREFERRED

- Our Medical Assistants do a large variety of work within our practice. We rely on them to be flexible, detailed-oriented, efficient and timely.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
