The Community Relations Manager will be responsible for leading and implementing community initiatives within specific programs, that result in providing an impact in the community, as well as enhancing the positive image of The New Orleans Saints and Pelicans’ brand. This personable, assertive, and eloquent individual will also have the goal of utilizing the Saints and Pelicans brand to engage government officials across the state and Gulf Coast.Responsibilities: Develop, coordinate, and implement various community events, including but not limited to: assemblies, in-arena game presentations, school reading timeouts, ribbon cuttings, school and community group nights Ensure all sponsored programs for community relations for Saints and Pelicans are executed according to contractual obligations; work alongside with Partnership Marketing department to ensure partner objectives are met Partner with schools and community organizations to ensure successful and meaningful events and community initiatives Partner with internal departments such as Marketing, Game Operations, Communications and Broadcast to build awareness of programs and initiatives, to create shared value within business operations and to continually expand upon the Saints and Pelicans brand in the community Contribute to the development and growth of NBA and NFL league initiatives such as Fit week, Hoops for Troops, Salute to Service and Crucial Catch Foster and maintain strategic relationships with non-profit organizations, civic groups, and school administration in order to continually Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Community minded individual with 3 years of proven experience working with community programs, non-profit, civic, and community groups Prior experience managing and supervising a team is helpful Excellent writing, organizational, and planning skills are a must Confidence in building and delivering presentations, as well as engaging in public speaking opportunities Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and logically Able to work effectively with internal and external constituents Must be a motivated, self-starter capable of balancing multiple tasks Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as directed by games and the NFL and NBA schedules Must be able to lift 25 pounds Must be able to work outside
