Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors
- Support individuals in participating in recreational activities and community outings
- Document and report any changes in behavior or health status
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for individuals
Experience:
- Previous experience in social work, dementia care, home care, or patient care is preferred
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to take vital signs is beneficial
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport individuals to appointments or activities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors in a calm and professional manner
