Overview: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide support and assistance to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Responsibilities: - Assist individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming - Provide transportation and accompany individuals to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities - Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors - Support individuals in developing independent living skills and promoting community integration - Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs and preferences - Ensure the rights and dignity of individuals are respected at all times - Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and individual progress Requirements: - Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation - Knowledge of home care systems and procedures - Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors using appropriate techniques - First aid and CPR certification is a plus - Ability to prepare meals according to dietary restrictions - Understanding of resident rights and ability to advocate for individuals' needs - Experience in childcare or related field is beneficial We offer competitive pay rates and opportunities for professional growth within our organization.
