WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Project Engineer who manages the daily activities required to ensure the successful completion of the project (i.e. successful execution of a contract). Primary liaison with the company's customer and their architect and engineering consultants as required. Coordinates activities of the jobs and resolves questions and problems. Responsibilities also include scheduling, financial accountability, change management and overall project responsibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are primary responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Be familiar with all elements of the plans and specifications that affect operations.
• Assist in the collection of costs, their proper allocation, and their proper operations.
• Be the liaison with project inspectors.
• Assist the superintendent in all aspects of the project, especially the paperwork.
• See that the erection plan is followed properly and that any changes are coordinated with the project manager.
• Report all material shortages immediately.
• Know where and what the project's survey control points are. See that the steel work is set to the proper elevation and alignment.
• Be familiar with bolting and welding procedures and assist the foreman and journeyman in their understanding of them.
• Be sure that all special erection equipment is used in the proper fashion and at the proper time.
• Check to see that all fabricator installed material is in place and correctly sized and located.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this duty, an individual must be able to perform and direct others on each essential duty.

• OSHA 10hr. Construction Safety and Health Standards training.
• CPR/First Aid training.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Detail oriented and focused.

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred (but not required) 1 years of experience in project management / project engineering relating to structural steel and precast erection.

Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Able to work with people in situations involving challenges, lead times, budgets and deadlines.
• Good oral and written communications.
• Professional attitude.
