Description:
The process manufacturing engineering group is responsible for New Model introduction projects. 80% of their time is spent in New Model planning with 20% spent within managing the installation, commissioning, and trial runs of the equipment. The candidates are assigned to an area of the new vehicle that will be produced and they’re responsible for leading the projects relevant to that section.
For each project the candidate will develop the concept, project plan, develop specifications, manage the timeline/progress, oversee the installation, commissioning, and trials of their projects. Typical projects would be supporting new assembly processes and tooling needed for the new models. If not a new model project, and larger capital project the plant would support that requires a 6 month timeline of completion would be supported by this group. They will work with vendors/suppliers, maintenance group, pilot team, etc when managing their projects.
The candidates can expect to work 45-50 hours a week most weeks. For shutdown weeks they should expect to be working due to project implementation. On average they can expect to work 2 weekends per month. There may be times where they’re expected to work additional weekends or OT beyond that
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must Haves
- Bachelors in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
- Tier 1 Automotive or OEM experience
- New Model Introduction Experience--- Process modification planning, Robotic/Automation implementation, Mechanical Design
- Project Engineering Experience- Develop scope, project plan, develop specifications, and execution
