Bell Plumbing is a fast-paced local plumbing company who has been in business since 2000. We are seeking for our team a self-motivated individual who must be an expert communicator, who has a strong ability to delegate responsibility and collaborate across a range of departments. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the management team. The Operation Manager will assist in leading and helping build effective team engagement programs across the organization and think both strategically and tactically to break down problems into solutions and build strong team relationships. Ultimately, the Operation Manager is responsible for maximizing revenue growth and gross profit dollar while maintaining a safe workplace environment, an engaged workforce, and exceptional client care.
Qualifications and Knowledge requirements:
● Minimum of 5 year's experience in managing operations or related professional area
● Industry experience in Plumbing strongly preferred
● Proven success in a managerial role
● Strong decision- making ability
● A high level of self-awareness, receptivity to change and integrity
● Availability to work after hours and/or varied shifts as needed
● Experience working in a fast-paced environment with little room for error, highly
organized, detail-oriented, ability to work with little oversight, and take initiative
● Ability to rapidly shift priorities based on evolving priorities and challenges
● Assist Department Managers and their teams in providing best-in-class customer service
● Coach , develop and drive employee engagement
● Hold self and others to defined standards of behavior and achievement
● Uphold operating standards and drive employee’s safety and satisfaction
● Experience in managing projects, budgets, and vendors/suppliers
● Delegate and follow-up on the completion of tasks
● Leverage business metrics and trends to drive performance and to maximize profit and
revenue
● Comfortable presenting and communicating across all levels of leadership
● Experience in building a project from kick-off to close, specifically, planning and leading
initiatives with a strong ability to align employees
● Demonstrated ability and comfort with data analysis for the purpose of storytelling and
consensus-building
● Strong problem-solving skills
● Comfortable presenting and communicating across all levels of leadership
● Experience in managing multiple departments
● Ability to build, develop, and maintain strong cross-functional teams, employee relations
Roles and responsibilities:
● Oversee daily operations, assign performance goals, and ensure their completion
and accomplish your own goals
● Supervise the development of and revision of annual budget and monthly
forecasts. Formulate complex reports, communicate with staff and corporate offices as
needed
● Identifies potential market challenges; educates self, staff and employees about
competitors and conditions in the marketplace.
● Support managers in the processes of interviewing, recruiting, onboarding and training high performing employees/ leaders to achieve objectives for sales profitability and market
share.
● Maintain high levels of employee engagement and retention
● Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge and skill
areas
● Recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication
and recommendation for termination.
● Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.
● Travel and participate in sales training sessions with employees as needed.
● Appropriately handles employee issues in conjunction with Human Resources
● Cultivate relationships with management and team members to ensure strong
connections
● Collaborate with the CEO to provide relevant data that can drive strategic decisions.
● Proven ability to understand and develop systems for process of improvement
● This level of management takes a leading, deciding, driving, and integrating approach to
managing the organization.
● Assures OSHA and other safety procedures are implemented; ensures the team is
educated as needed regarding safety precautions, including routine safety meetings
● Perform periodic walk-throughs to create a punch list noting any facilities-related issues
to be addressed and corrected by the responsible department
