Bednark Studio Inc. is Hiring an AV Assistant Near New York, NY
The role of the AV Assistant involves supporting various tasks such as assembly, installation, and departmental operations while maintaining safety standards throughout the production process. This temporary opportunity provides entry-level individuals with valuable experience and allows them to contribute actively to ongoing projects. This is a temporary position with the opportunity for extension based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities:
Assembly & Install:
Assist in reviewing assigned tasks and seek clarification from the Lead AV Technician or Department Manager as needed.
Participate in cutting extrusions, soldering, wiring, and other installation preparations under supervision.
Shadow and support Lead AV Technicians and Build Leads during the finishing, tech up, and installation process.
Ensure all necessary tools, equipment, and hardware are gathered and maintained for appointed projects.
Adhere to safe lifting and handling practices and operate AV department equipment and tools efficiently.
Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge of materials, products, and processes relevant to the role.
Monitor and report inventory levels of department supplies and equipment.
Maintain attention to detail and quality standards throughout the production process.
Communicate effectively with team members regarding project timelines and completion status.
Works onsite under the direction of Lead Technician
Department Operations:
Contribute to project processes including tech ups and installs as directed.
Adhere to safety protocols and demonstrate efficient use of tools and equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and assist in general department upkeep.
Uphold professionalism, reliability, and punctuality while embodying Bednark's core values.
Accurately track time spent on tasks and projects using the provided systems.
Collaborate with team members to ensure proper maintenance of department tools and equipment.
Foster a positive and solution-oriented teamwork environment.
Provide feedback and support to fellow team members as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience with low-voltage electronics or related technical fields is preferred but not required.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing project requirements.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and equipment is a plus.
