Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Cash Management

• Review daily bank account activity.
• Post entries to record cash/bank transactions.
• Reconcile all bank accounts monthly.
• Transfer funds into the main operating account as needed.
• Accounts Payable and Credit Management:
• Review and approve invoices and checks weekly.
• Determine appropriate pay dates for accounts payable.
• Monitor credit card activity and post monthly transactions.
• Process ACH payments through bank accounts.
• Handle sales tax reporting and payments.
• Collaborate with the Business Manager to ensure timely processing and payment of invoices.

Journal Entries

• Manage and post journal entries regularly.
• Complete month-end entries to accurately reflect monthly financial activity.
• Post payroll activity twice a month.
• Maintain detailed records of fixed asset activity and post depreciation.

Financial Statements

• Review and produce monthly financial statements, including:
• Income Statement
• Balance Sheet
• Cash Flow Statement

Student Revenue Management

• Utilize internal student accounting system to manage student activity.
• Post student revenue monthly.
• Reconcile and balance student Accounts Receivable, credit balances, and unearned revenue monthly.

External Reporting

• Monitor and provide regular cash balance reporting.
• Prepare consolidated cash flow reports monthly.

Annual Activities

• Coordinate support for audit and tax preparation:
• Work with external auditors to provide necessary documents and reports for the annual audit.
• Provide detailed support for tax return preparation.
• Assist in the development of the annual budget.
• Upload the budget to the internal accounting system.
• Annual IPEDs financial reporting.

Pay: $60,414.54 - $72,757.29 per year
