Job Title: Clerk, Receptionist
Reports to: Program Administrator:
Assigned Campus: Homer Elementary School
Primary Purpose: Serve as receptionist to greet and receive incoming patrons into the school and answers the central switchboard system.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient knowledge in operating switchboard system Effective interpersonal skills Ability to communicate well with people on phone and in person Proficient skills in typing and computer usage
Minimum Experience: One year experience in public education environment preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Receive all incoming calls and transfer to appropriate staff.
2. Take messages, answer general questions from community.
3. Make and log all long distance calls.
4. Report all telephone repairs as needed.
5. Positive attitude, present a role model for students and the community that supports the mission of the school district.
6. Cooperation, works effectively with others.
7. Maintain records of teacher attendance, run weekly/monthly reports and close files each month.
8. Greet all visitors and direct to appropriate areas.
9. Send for homework assignments.
10. Sign for all merchandise from U.P.S. and mail carrier.
11. Make sure time cards are signed and sent to business office.
12. Maintain paperwork pertaining to substitutes.
13. Responsible for selling locks to students.
14. Maintain sign-in sheet for teachers/substitutes.
15. Know how to program phone.
16. Responsible for scheduling Master Teaching Room.
17. Receive and distribute U.S. Mail.
18. Receive and distribute Central Office Mail.
19. Project a good model for students in dress, demeanor, and speech.
20. Demonstrate a positive attitude toward life and students.
21. Display punctuality, congeniality, dependability and efficiency.
22. Exhibit exemplary ethical and moral behavior.
23. Cooperate fully with colleagues in shared responsibilities.
24. Show tolerance for peer differences and promotes harmony.
25. Share experiences, ideas and knowledge with peers.
26. Seek advice and counsel when needed.
