Beacon Harbor is Hiring a Group Home Manager Near Saginaw, MI

The positions of Home Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the home including but not limited to; assuring implementation of daily routines, consumer programming and Treatment Plans. Coordinators are responsible for guiding and assisting the direct care staff and consumers. Coordinators are accountable for the daily operations of the home to the Residential Administrator, Licensee Designee and President of Beacon Harbor.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be able to pass the Michigan fingerprint background check

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license

At least two years of experience working with the mentally ill.

Some Knowledge of Saginaw County Community Mental Health Auditing Procedures preferred but not required.

Must be suitable to meet physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of each consumer.

Have some familiarity with the rules set forth by the Office of Recipient Rights and Adult foster Care Licensing.

Must be capable of appropriately handling emergency situations.

Must be capable of assuring program planning, development, and implementation of services to consumers consistent with the home’s program statement and in accordance with the consumer’s treatment plan and care agreement.

Must be trained and competent in the following areas :

Nutrition

First aid

CPR

Foster Care licensing

Safety and fire prevention

Financial and administrative management

Knowledge of the needs of the mentally ill

Recipient Rights

Prevention and containment of communicable diseases

Must be in such physical and mental health so as not to negatively affect either the health of a consumer or the quality of his or her care; and be able to lift, push and or carry a minimum of 30 pounds.

As a condition of continued employment the Home Manager must participate in and successfully update required trainings on an annual basis.

Responsibilities

The success of our business is based on the provision of quality services. The following is a list of responsibilities for Coordinators to help ensure Beacon Harbor’s commitment to quality and continuing improvement. Home Coordinators are responsible for:

Providing and ensuring the quality of care of consumers.

Daily Operations of the Home.

Implementation and follow through on all Beacon Harbor programming, policies and procedures.

Attendance at all Coordinator meetings.

Maintaining all Licensing requirements within the home.

Assisting and supporting all employees and leading by example.

Maintaining and Updating Employee files.

Completing employee work evaluations as scheduled.

Issuing all needed disciplinary actions with the assistance of the Residential Administrator.

Creating and adjusting a weekly staff schedule.

Conducting Bi-weekly staff meetings.

Scheduling in-services and presentations.

Tracking employee hours and monitoring payroll.

Tracking and maintaining the balance of petty cash and its receipts.

Tracking and maintaining the inventory of the point store.

Checking all documentation written by employees and assisting those who require assistance.

Purchasing and maintaining groceries in the home.

Tracking mileage on all Beacon Harbor vehicles and scheduling any required maintenance. Conducting all fire, tornado, and safety drills as scheduled and required by any monitoring agencies.

General maintenance and upkeep of the home, inside and outside.

Maintaining CQI documentation. Establishing a positive working relationship with all case managers, guardians, doctors, nurses, consumer’s family members, and representatives of monitoring agencies.

Ensuring all needed appointments for consumers are scheduled and the that consumer attends all appointments.

Writing and faxing Weekly Progress notes to all necessary persons. The Weekly monitoring sheets are to be turned in no later than the following Wednesday. Weeklies must also be faxed to the office by 5pm every Wednesday.

Providing orientation to all new consumers and new staff.

Setting up all Clinical files, removing old files, and maintaining all current files.

Maintenance, handling, and distribution of all medications appropriately. This includes keeping prescriptions up to date, documenting any changes of medications, and the appropriate handling of distribution of the medications.

Completing Coordinators weekly and monthly checklists and have on hand for review.

Get approval from Administration to leave early.

Remain at the designated facility most of the time, sending staff to complete errands if necessary.

Schedule job site checks for the month and turn in by the 5th of the month.

Get necessary approval for all Consumer LOA’s.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
