Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal case management, obtaining medical records, summarizing medical records, research, and administrative tasks to support our litigation attorneys. We are a defense litigation firm handling matters for corporations and individuals including commercial litigation, construction defects, insurance coverage, personal injury and liquor liability.
Duties:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as discovery, pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Manage and organize case files and documents for easy retrieval
- Prepare standard correspondence and memoranda
- Electronically file documents with various courts in NY
-Prepare and serve subpoenas and authorizations for medical, employment and insurance records
- Obtain, review and summarize medical records
- Retain various experts and prepare expert packages
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, experts and court personnel
-Maintain attorney calendars
-Conduct social media, internet and court docket searches
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Paralegal with a focus on defense litigation support
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
-2-3 years of defense litigation experience and billing experience a must
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $53,473.94 - $64,398.72 per year
