Candidate will be expected to work in clean laboratory and growth chamber environments with plants, soil, and plant pathogens. Familiarity with sterile technique, culturing fungi and bacteria in vitro is desired but not necessary.

Candidate must be comfortable working in growth chambers and follow all procedures and SOPs. Duties include but are not limited to preparing testing supplies, including inoculum cultures, planting, general plant care, plant inoculations, disease ratings and regular cleaning of labs and chambers. Ideal candidate will be comfortable working with multiple digital tools for accessing and recording data.

Demonstration of self-motivation, flexibility, and reliability is required. Candidate will regularly work in environments that are dusty, warm, or required to remain clean.

Previous course work and/or experience in plant care and/or plant pathology desired.

Associates degree with 1 year or Bachelors.

Candidate must have excellent organizational skills and work ethic, be detail-oriented, work in a fast-paced environment, and work both independently and on a team.

Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
