Your Purpose as the Employee Relations Manager:

The Employee Relations Manager plays a vital role in providing leadership with directing, developing, implementing, and executing complex HR/Employee Relations functions relative to applicable policies, procedures, and laws.

In this role you will:

  • Build strong relationships with General Managers, Store Leaders, and employees at all levels.
  • Develop the Store Leader’s ability to properly handle employee issues including performance management, investigations, disciplinary processes, and HR procedures.
  • Manage all leave of absence processes including FMLA, ADA, Short- and Long-Term Disability, and Worker’s Compensation
  • Provide training on various employee-related topics to ensure adherence to compliance policies.
  • Maintain and expand a trusting, collaborative work environment for all employees to help advocate employee satisfaction and execute results on business objectives.
  • Formally respond to sensitive concerns and allegations by conducting internal investigations into allegations of misconduct, poor performance, and violations of the Company’s internal policies.
  • Reduce risk by developing/adopting policies, procedures, and programs to promote fair and efficient business decisions

We are looking for someone who:

  • Understands HR industry trends and has the ability to interpret related legislation to ensure compliance of organizational programs and policies
  • Is collaborative with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Has an authentic ability to gain credibility and trust with employees across all levels of the company
  • Can maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive company information in a highly discreet, professional, and appropriate manner.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of complex employee relations experience with emphasis on conflict resolution and investigations
  • Knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, work comp., and ERISA law regulations

Additional Qualifications:

  • PHR and/or SPHR certification is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred
  • Ability to travel to assigned store locations
  • Demonstrated experience with constructive conflict management, resolution, and analysis
  • Working knowledge of all Employee Relations laws and investigation claims at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and decision-making while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication capabilities and skillsets to develop and effectively maintain partnerships internally and externally
  • Adaptable and agile to quickly learn new and changing technologies and processes
  • Excellent time management, detail orientation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A team-first always perspective with a desire to win together attitude.
