We are a Chicago (far north-side) Accounting/Law firm, near Peterson and Western. We seek a dedicated and personable Accountant / Income Tax Preparer.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare Federal and State tax returns using Proseries Software
• Prepare monthly reporting used for Financial Statements
• Perform quarter-end and year-end tax filings and other activities

• Perform a wide variety of payroll processing activities, including computing wage payments and calculating tax payments, vacation entries, garnishment, subpoenas, office changes, banking errors
• Assist in monthly close activities, including updating payroll journal entries and spreadsheets
• Process or supervise weekly payroll for clients

• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google products
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to professionally communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to write and communicate with customers intelligently and professionally
• Experience/proficiency in Proseries a plus
• Experience with AccountingCS is a plus
• Working knowledge of Accounting/Tax best practices along with the corresponding federal and state regulations
