Follett School Solutions is Hiring a Professional Services Consultant Near Chicago, IL

Position Overview:

The Destiny Solution Consultant plays a pivotal role in advising and guiding customers on the optimal implementation and utilization of the Destiny solution, encompassing both Resource Manager and Library Manager solutions. This position acts as a trusted advisor to stakeholders within school districts, providing expert insights and best practices to maximize the value derived from their investment in Follett's Destiny solution. The Consultant engages in targeted discussions to understand and analyze various aspects of the customer's workflows related to resource management across the district. Drawing upon their extensive experience, the Consultant shares pertinent information to facilitate informed decisions, guiding customers towards the most effective utilization of the solution tailored to their specific district needs.

  1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Library Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  2. Proven experience in implementing and/or utilizing educational technology solutions, preferably Follett's Destiny solution.
  3. Strong understanding of school district operations and workflows, particularly related to resource management and library services.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, formulate solutions, and present recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
  6. Experience conducting training sessions and workshops, with the ability to effectively educate and empower users.
  7. Proficiency in software configuration and customization, with the ability to adapt solutions to meet diverse customer needs.
  8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  9. Strong commitment to customer satisfaction, with a passion for helping educators and school districts achieve their goals through technology-enabled solutions.

  1. Engaging with Key Stakeholders and Addressing Issues:
    • Engage with key stakeholders from the customer via short-term or long-term projects to address a variety of issues and needs related to resource management.
    • Collaborate closely with decision-makers at the district level to understand requirements and objectives.
  1. Conducting Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Conduct user interviews, surveys, and other data collection methods to gather necessary information.
    • Perform situational and data analysis to identify and understand problems or issues impacting district workflows.
  1. Presenting Findings and Providing Recommendations:
    • Present and explain findings to appropriate executives and stakeholders within the district.
    • Provide actionable advice and suggestions for improvement aligned with district objectives.
  1. Formulating Implementation Plans and Overcoming Challenges:
    • Formulate plans to implement recommendations and overcome challenges faced by the district in utilizing the Destiny solution effectively.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of recommendations.
  1. Identifying Training Needs and Serving as Subject Matter Expert:
    • Identify training needs for impacted roles within the district and recommend appropriate training programs.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on Follett's Destiny solution, demonstrating industry knowledge and role-specific understanding based on experience in school district environments.

  • Records all time spent on billable and non-billable activities
  • Reports progress regularly to all internal and external project stakeholders
