Position Name: Software Engineer (Senior/IV)
Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80916

Clearance Requirement: Must be able to achieve and maintain a DOD Security clearance.

Travel: Up to 5%, Must be able to achieve and maintain a U.S. Passport.

BESL is seeking a qualified Software Engineer to perform key duties in Colorado Springs, CO. Requires leading software integration efforts with minimal supervision and/or direction and analyze user stories, use cases, and requirements for validity and feasibility. Qualified candidate will attend and participate in project planning and execution meetings. Requires strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management. Must be able to work within a team and complete complex projects/processes with minimal oversight while implementing strategic goals.

Must possess strong communications skills to provide guidance, coaching and training to team members. Must be able to interpret and explain policies, procedures, and practices and assist with the development of test plans, test cases, and testing scripts for manual and automated testing.

Requires the ability to effectively collaborate with test and integration team and advocate for software priorities in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning.

Position requires the following:
Experience originating software specifications and ICD documents and deriving software requirements
Experience in Full-Stack Java development
Experience in React.js and node.js / Cypress.js / mongodb or similar NoSQL technology
Experience with RedHat Linux or similar environment: Java, Groovy, and Bash scripting, DevSecOps
Must be comfortable working in collaborative environment, primarily on-site

Familiarity with full software lifecycle development processes including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and unit test
Experience with hardware and software integration
Red Hat certification or completion within 6 months of employment
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to achieve and maintain a DOD Security clearance.

Preferred Skills:
-Familiarity with all phases of the software test life cycle
-Must be able to handle multiple processes while testing cases and develop plan "fixes"
-Experience with software containerization and orchestration (Docker)
-Experience with DevSecOps (CI/CD) methodology and tools, (Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify)
-Familiar with the Agile Scrum development methodology
-Experience with Digital Signal Processing
-Basic understanding of Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems
-System Administrator experience

Education/Certifications:
-2 years post-Secondary schooling/Associates Degree and minimum 8 years relevant experience
-Bachelors' Degree in STEM and minimum 6 years relevant experience or
-Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years relevant experience or equivalent
-Red Hat certification within 6 months of employment
-Security

BESL complies with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary range for this particular effort in Colorado is approximately $75,000 - 135,000.
