Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist provides HR support to business area employees and managers in accordance with company policies, practices, and processes. This position carries out responsibilities in all functional areas with an emphasis on: recruitment, onboarding, business group partnerships, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and other areas, while displaying Banner values at every touch point.

This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage the full cycle of recruiting including collaborate with managers to understand and meet hiring needs, source top talent and screen resumes, coordinate and conduct interviews, maintain communication with the hiring manager and candidates, and develop and deliver offers for employment
  • Research, develop and recommend recruiting strategies to assist the company in meeting our hiring needs
  • Assist in representing Banner at recruiting and/or professional networking events, such as career fairs
  • Coordinate the new hire process and ensures a smooth integration for the new employee; conduct new hire orientation
  • Develop and implement personnel policies and procedures including periodic review and update of the Employee Handbook
  • Assist employees with general employment questions regarding policies, procedures, programs, and benefits
  • Respond to and manage employee concerns and conduct investigations as necessary with grace, compassion, and integrity
  • Establish and maintain solid working relationships with managers; provide guidance and support to managers while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and federal and state employment laws
  • Assist with the development and delivery of performance improvement plans, disciplinary action, and termination
  • Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews as needed and assist in analysis and communication of data to leadership
  • Participate in or lead HR initiatives and projects such as benchmarking and analyzing industry trends, employee recognition initiatives, and others
  • Contribute to a professional, positive, and results-oriented team environment
  • Participate in development of department goals and objectives
  • Assist in promoting Banner’s culture internally and externally
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Required / Must Have’s

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Demonstrated Human Resources experience in a Generalist or related role

Preferred / The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Full cycle recruiting experience
  • Employee relations and performance management experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information and exercise discretion
  • Employer Branding Experience; or a marketing mindset
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail and follow up
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Dedicated team player
  • Ability to multi-task and be organized
  • Exceptional customer focus with strong professional acumen
  • Ability to build productive relationships with potential candidates, employees and management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and EEO
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems, Ultimate Kronos Group (formerly Ultimate Software)
