Position Summary

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist provides HR support to business area employees and managers in accordance with company policies, practices, and processes. This position carries out responsibilities in all functional areas with an emphasis on: compensation, leave, benefits, wellness and company event planning

This position reports to the Human Resources Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Compensation Program Administration: Support the development, design, evaluation, implementation, and administration of the organization's compensation programs and initiatives, including:
    • Salary survey participation
    • Conducts company-wide market analysis; analyzes salary structure to ensure midpoints and range spreads are competitive to attract and retain talent
    • Completes ad hoc requests for market pricing jobs
    • Serves as the CompAnalyst system expert and reviews analytics
    • Makes recommendations to the compensation structure
  • Leave Administration: Oversees day-to-day administration of Banner’s leave of absence program including FMLA and Medical LOA or general LOA; Works with outsourced Leave Administrator (Lincoln Financial)
  • Benefits Coordination: Manages employee benefits programs including:
    • Benefits vendor partnerships and meeting schedules
    • Benefit compliance activities and reporting
    • Open enrollment process and materials,
    • Benefit communication strategy development and deploy to employee population
    • Subject Matter Expert in Banner’s benefit offerings and serves as a resource for employees
  • Wellness Program Administration: Manages the employee wellness and perks programs, including planning, communicating with vendors, and promoting the programs to employees
  • HRIS Projects and Reporting: HRIS Administration (UKG Pro) backup for maintenance and reporting; HRIS projects and audits
  • Company Event Planning: Manages the calendar of special events and activities; leads the planning and coordination of events, food trucks and other employee engagement activities
  • Prepares documents, forms, announcements, and other materials used to communicate information to employees
  • Works on assigned projects and special assignments, and acts as back up to other members of HR as needed
  • Actively engages in recommending, implementing, and supporting process changes and automation
  • Ensures confidentiality and data integrity of all personnel data
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Table

Required/ Must Have’s

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Demonstrated Human Resources experience in a Benefits or Compensation role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be organized

Preferred / The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a Benefits and Compensation Role
  • Hands on experience with Compensation Systems (Comp Analyst) and pricing jobs
  • Understanding of compensation strategies and experience managing a compensation structure
  • Hands on experience with an HR Information System (HRIS) such as UKG Pro or Workforce Management (formerly Dimensions)
  • Working knowledge of Leave Laws (FMLA, State Leaves, etc.)
  • Enjoys planning and coordinating events and activities
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools such as Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate projects under minimal supervision
