SUMMARY: A Billing Coordinator must maintain a high level of customer service with Atlantic American Employee Benefits Agents, Policyholders and all internal personnel. Adhere to Atlantic American Corporation’s Mission, Vision and Values statements at all times. Communicate effectively with agents, policyholders and all internal personnel using both verbal and written skills. Support the policy contracts by correctly defining policy changes as outlined in each specific policy contract for automation on our policy administration system. Apply strong analytical, organizational, technical and problem-solving skills on a daily basis. Has a clear understanding of Health and Life products, procedures, compliance and principles.
Oversee technical and operational functions for Atlantic American Employee Benefits Group Division with emphasis on customer service and solving issues that arise concerning the billing and applying of funds for Atlantic American Employee Benefits Group Business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Must be willing to cross-train on all department functions.
QUALICIATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Must be able to multitask; have advanced knowledge of the life and health insurance industry; excellent verbal and written communication skills; good planning and organizational skills; solid trouble-shooting ability and excellent problem-solving skills. Displays commitment to excellence and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires one to three years’ experience in the insurance environment. Requires basic knowledge of MS Office particularly in EXCEL.
