Baker Industries, a Lincoln Electric Company is Hiring a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Near Macomb, MI

Work in coordination with the Manager and other coworkers to ensure that all jobs are welded to the specifications of each job and meet the outlined requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect completed welds
  • Check welding specifications for a job
  • Ensure the correct equipment and materials are being used for a weld
  • Examine workpieces for defects
  • Assess the quality and strength of completed welds
  • Suggest alternative welding techniques
  • Demonstrate correct welding procedures
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Document actions by completing production timesheets
  • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • AWS QC1 CWI certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to witness and record results for Procedure Qualification Records
  • Ability to review and authorize Welding Procedure Specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of basic principles of GMAW (MIG welding) and GTAW (TIG welding)
  • To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government
