B2B and B2C CPG is Hiring a Human Resources Business Partner Near Renton, WA

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will play a vital role in the company's growth and long-term success - this role is equal parts HR Business Partner and Chief of Staff. You will partner closely with the founders, team managers, and employees to develop and implement strategies related to talent management, organizational effectiveness, change management, and company culture. Your key responsibilities include helping the founders navigate tough managerial decisions, leading and collaborating with hiring managers to implement innovative and inclusive recruitment strategies, help build out thorough employee orientations and onboarding processes, overseeing organizational development, workforce planning, succession planning, performance management strategies, and building out core HR processes and programs. This is the first HR hire within our fast growing company and the person in this role will be a strategic member of our leadership team.

You will serve as the primary HR contact, providing guidance and coaching to managers and employees on HR matters while ensuring HR practices align with corporate policies, goals, and objectives. You will work with management to resolve conflicts, foster positive employee relations, and build an engaging work environment aimed at increasing employee morale and engagement while reducing unwanted turnover. Managing employee disciplinary issues and advising leaders on case management will also fall under your responsibilities.

In this role, you will act as the HR subject matter expert, building out key HR strategies and processes. You will partner with founders and cross-functional teams to translate business plans into talent and organizational strategies. Additionally, you will consult and advise owners and leaders on talent development, performance management, and employee relations, proactively assessing organizational needs and implementing appropriate HR solutions. Promoting and cultivating the company's desired organizational culture through focused initiatives will be an essential part of your duties. With your expertise and leadership, you will drive HR excellence, enable business strategies through talent solutions, and create an environment where employees can thrive and bring their best selves to work each day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to company leaders to understand the needs, goals, and challenges of their teams/functions and provide solutions on how to successfully align people and business strategies and improve organizational effectiveness
  • The HR Business Partner will provide thought leadership and guidance to company leaders on various HR programs, policies, and processes
  • This role will operate with a strategic lens but must also be willing to dig in with teams and individuals to empower our people, diagnose issues, provide support, and drive positive and productive outcomes
  • Lead large and small projects in the areas you’re most passionate about from leadership development to compensation, change leadership, organizational design, coaching, and many more
  • Build leadership and management capabilities by influencing and coaching managers through various employee and organizational issues
  • Partner with business leaders to strengthen culture, enhance the employee experience, encourage innovation and continuous improvement in all people related processes, initiatives, and issues
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure robust career growth and succession plans are in place for all key positions
  • Engage in difficult conversations, giving and receiving constructive feedback with respect, empathy, professionalism, and candor with both employees and managers
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations
  • Facilitate actions to resolve employee relations issues and escalate as appropriate
  • Review employee complaints and ensure accurate and timely documentation of issues
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously, adapt to change, and flex when needed to pitch in on the day-to-day

Requirements:

  • 10 years of HR Generalist/Business Partner experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading cultural and organizational change efforts.
  • Previous experience supporting senior leadership and team managers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • PHR/SPHR or similar HR certification Preferred
  • Strong business acumen with ability to integrate HR and business strategies.
  • Leadership, management, and organizational skills demonstrate the ability to establish clear goals and management objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze data, understand trends, develop recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal skills instill confidence and trust in a variety of stakeholders including individuals who may be receiving advice or information that is inconsistent with their desired outcome.
  • Strong communication skills to convey required information for compensation, performance management, interactive process, and other actions.
  • Key skills and abilities include coaching, employee counseling, influencing, facilitation, communication, analysis and problem-solving.
  • Ability to develop quantifiable measures and manage others by mentoring and motivating staff to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws affecting Human Resources activities, including FMLA/CFRA, PDL, ADA, EEO, DOL/FLSA Wage and Hour Guidelines, ERISA, COBRA, and Workers' Compensation.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
