Position: Patient Support Navigator

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Reports to: Choice Hotline Manager

A Woman’s Choice clinics provide a full range of reproductive health care, specializing in compassionate abortion care and related services. We offer safe, effective, and affordable options for medication abortions and procedural abortions. 

Here, we support the hopes and dreams of our patients.

Our clinics offer comprehensive reproductive health services including miscarriage management care, pregnancy testing, ultrasound testing, emergency contraception, birth control, and HIV/STI testing. We are licensed by state and federal agencies and certified by the abortion standard organization, National Abortion Federation.

Our Patient Support Navigators work closely with our Choice Hotline Staff and AWC Clinics to provide encouragement and non-judgmental assistance with funding and logistical support for patients seeking abortion care with AWC.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an advocate for patients to help navigate and address barriers to abortion care
    • Based on the needs and resources of the patient, provide navigation across the continuum of care, and support services available 
  • Provide comfort and support to patients
  • Support patient-led decision-making and communication
  • Establish positive relationships with and knowledge of support programs and resources throughout the local, regional, and national landscape
  • Provide accurate information and support appropriate to the patient with sensitivity to language and cultural preferences.
  • Establish, maintain, and update folders, databases, records, reports and/or other documents. Maintain accurate and complete patient files.
    • Document tasks and follow-up on patient encounters, connections with Clinic, confirmation of appointments, and outcomes of outreach
  • Participate in continuing professional development programs as appropriate.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must support access to abortion
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be detail-oriented and able to perform repetitive tasks without error
  • Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible
  • Bilingual preferred but not required (offers pay differential)
