Description

The Director, Quality and Compliance will lead the teams and efforts at Avivo to maximize the use and impact of technology and streamlined processes to ensure compliance standards are met and reporting through metrics and data-driven decisions. This Director will have oversight of the management of Avivo’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) System and all reporting and compliance processes that use this system. The Director will implement all necessary actions to ensure an effective compliance program is an integral and successful part of Avivo. This position is responsible for process and system development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous quality improvement with teams and management. The Director will provide overall leadership and management of Avivo’s EHR; process, outcome and impact evaluation and analysis efforts; and regulatory compliance. This role will be the Compliance Officer and point of contact for DHS with all communication matters.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality, Compliance & EHR leadership

  • Develop and implement compliance documentation, procedures, and training policies for any programs within the chemical and mental health and ending homelessness divisions.
  • Lead the internal monitoring and testing processes for compliance, as well as the reporting and metrics supporting this compliance.
  • Ensure that all aspects of Avivo’s EHR meet the needs of internal and external users of clinical and administrative information, as well as stay compliant with all regulations.
  • Develop workflows between external agencies, program staff, and billings teams to maximize utilization of automation and efficiencies with software, as it pertains to compliance.
  • Train on the EHR and various compliance procedures and guidelines.
  • Oversee all licensing, accreditation and contractual audit, site visit and renewal processes in collaboration with clinical leadership and staff.
  • Develop policies and procedures documenting processes and standards to meet licensing, accreditation, and contractual requirements.
  • Develop evaluation tools (i.e. logic models, performance dashboards) that support engagement in and understanding of our evaluation efforts.
  • Function as the EHR subject matter expert.
  • Represent the organization’s portfolio of services at various community meetings and events.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with community partners.

Qualifications


Education and Experience

Required

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in behavioral health setting is required
  • 2 years or more freedom from substance use problems.
  • Experience with and/or commitment to working in a diverse continuum of services in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Experience with and/or a demonstrated commitment to developing and delivering culturally responsive services.

Preferred 

  • Experience with an EHR, preferably Credible, is highly desired.
  • Experience in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Experience with programs serving individuals with dual diagnoses.
  • Experience and/or training providing services to corrections and ex-offenders.
