Overview:
The Pharmacist appropriately packages and dispenses prescribed drugs in a retail or healthcare facility environment. The Pharmacist also handles incoming physician calls, logs data into the computer, performs Rx workflow processing, and conducts drug utilization reviews.
This is a reduced full-time opportunity (30 hours plus) based in Portland, OR inside one of our clinic partners (Prism Health - 2236 SE Belmont St).
The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
About the Role:
- Fill-in for Pharmacists and/or Pharmacists-in-Charge at our Portland, OR pharmacy
- Manage pharmacy operations and maintain the highest quality of pharmaceutical care and services while filling in for the PIC
- Properly dispense, order, and maintain proper inventory of drugs, devices, and supplies, including controlled and dangerous substances pursuant to all state and federal laws
- Direct activities and workflow efficiency of Pharmacy Clerk(s), Technician(s), Intern(s), and Extern(s) always seeking to improve processes to grow business
- Effectively operate and maintain automated drug dispensing machinery
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy
- Keep abreast of changing laws, regulations, and new pharmacy-related programs
- Consult with clinic providers, administrators, and other personnel for the purpose of providing quality patient care and maximizing pharmacy performance
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Uphold a clean, customer-friendly workplace, and always project a positive attitude
- Maintain a high level of professionalism consistent with company standards, including dress, personal appearance, and grooming
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Perform in accordance with company policies and standards, as well as the spirit of the Company's core values and goals
About You:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university
- Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Oregon
- 1 year of full-time retail or clinic pharmacy experience preferred
- 340B experience preferred
- AAHIV certification preferred
- Certifications in different areas of Pharmacy a plus
- Experience with pharmacy software such as PioneerRx, QSI, etc. preferred
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical/Health Records (EMR/EHR) such as EPIC, NextGen, CERNER, etc. preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, customer-service, managerial, and communication skills
- Able to efficiently work, mentor, and supervise staff in a fast-paced environment

Pay range: $52.00-$70.00 per hour based on credentials and geographic location.
