Position Overview:

The Audiovisual (AV) Programmer - III, plays a pivotal role in creating and supporting control systems programming for audiovisual installations. This position demands a high level of technical expertise in audiovisual systems, encompassing networking, audio and video equipment, associated software, and programming. The Audiovisual (AV) Programmer - III is responsible for adhering to company standards for control systems programming, working independently to create and edit programs while also providing guidance to junior programmers. This role involves both remote and on-site assistance with configuration, testing, and commissioning of AV/IT systems. Attention to detail, punctuality, effective communication skills, and the ability to commission audiovisual installations are essential for success in this position.

Requirements: 

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience;
    • Bachelor’s degree in programming preferred.
  • CompTIA Network certification required within two years of starting.
  • AVIXA CTS certification mandatory.
  • Two or more certifications from the following list:
    • Crestron Master Programmer
    • Extron Certified Control Professional
    • Extron Authorized Programmer
    • QSC Q-SYS Level 2
    • AMX ACE
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in technical AV/IT or programming roles.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Apple software, and programming languages like Python, HTML, C#Pro.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital communication protocols (IP, RS232, RS485, USB).
  • Proficiency in loading, testing, and editing control code and graphical interfaces.
  • Advanced skills in configuring wired and wireless TCP/IP networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced programming and graphic interface layouts for AV/IT systems. 
    • using primarily Crestron, AMX, and Extron, C , C#, VB, PHP, Java, HTML 5, and other programming languages as needed to meet project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Support project teams with programming, configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Provide support and expertise to project teams through advanced programming, equipment configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Setup and configure wired and wireless networks supporting AV/IT systems.
  • Organize, maintain, and archive job-related code and programs.
  • Assist with control system submittals and job commissioning tasks.
  • Identify change order opportunities and maintain code repository.
  • Define coding methodology, testing, and release processes.
  • Conduct periodic code reviews and promote coding best practices.
  • Provide task designation, scheduling, and mentorship for junior programmers.
  • Deliver system training to clients and technical guidance to field engineers.
