Position Overview:

The AV Field Engineer - Level 3 will be responsible for offering technical commissioning support for AV/IT systems on-site. This role demands a high level of expertise across various areas, including in-depth technical knowledge of audiovisual systems, networking, audio and video equipment, and related software. The AV Field Engineer - Level 3 will also be expected to perform intermediate level control system program editing with remote assistance. Attention to detail, punctuality, effective communication skills, and the ability to successfully commission audiovisual system installations are essential for this position.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• AVIXA CTS certification required; 
  • CompTIA Network certification must be obtained within two years of starting the position.
• 6 years of previous experience in technical AV/IT and/or field engineering support.
• Proficiency in Windows and Apple software.
• Advanced skills in setting up and calibrating video displays.
• Experience with programming languages such as Crestron, Extron, AMX, Python, HTML, C#Pro, etc.
• Proficiency in digital communications protocols (IP, RS232, RS485, USB).
• Strong understanding of audio and video equipment and digital signal processors.
• Ability to configure wired and wireless TCP/IP networks.

Responsibilities:

• Provide field engineering support including engineering, equipment configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams to prepare control system submittals and ensure system quality and performance meet project requirements.
• Conduct systems testing, commissioning, and prepare punch lists for project completion.
• Maintain accurate documentation and archive job-related files and configurations.
• Provide system training to clients as required.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior AV Field Engineers.
• Adhere to safety standards and attend required safety meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain certifications and attend relevant training classes as required.
• Strive to maintain a billable/chargeable workload as per company standards.
