Job Summary: 

As a Marketing Manager at our leading GovTech company, you will spearhead innovative marketing initiatives, driving new business opportunities primarily in the state and local government sectors. We seek a dynamic individual who combines expertise in government-focused software solutions, business development, program management, and a track record of achieving measurable outcomes. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing Leadership:

  • Craft and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to capture key opportunities in the GovTech space.
  • Lead the development of targeted marketing campaigns, both digital and traditional, to enhance lead generation and brand visibility.

Collaboration and Relationship Building:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to refine and communicate the unique value proposition of our software and services.
  • Forge and nurture strategic relationships with customers, prospects, partners, and industry influencers to expand market presence.
  • Actively participate in proposal development, business renewal strategies, and significant sales initiatives.

Market Analysis and Segmentation:

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in the state and local government arena.
  • Tailor marketing efforts to different segments for optimized impact and resource allocation.

Event Management and Representation:

  • Organize and provide support for industry events, trade shows, and other promotional activities.
  • Represent the company at various forums, requiring occasional business travel and hands-on involvement in trade show preparations.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Deliver regular reports detailing program responses, return on investment (ROI), and other key performance metrics.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to refine marketing strategies and tactics continually.

Communication: 

  • Strategic Communication Leadership: Oversee the development and implementation of integrated communication strategies, ensuring cohesive messaging across internal and external channels.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Content Management: Manage communications with key stakeholders, including crafting impactful content for diverse audiences, ranging from internal teams to external partners and the public.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in marketing technology to state and local governments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 Knowledge and Experience:

  • Awareness of state and local government market needs, challenges, trends and technologies
  • Techniques to engage with industry groups, colleagues and customers to stay current on market needs
  • Marketing tactics including content marketing, social media, advertising, public relations, research, event planning and trade shows
  • Proven track record in marketing, particularly in the state and local government sector, with a deep understanding of technology, finance, administration, and public sector procurement.
  • Experience in leading multi-faceted marketing campaigns, including content marketing, social media, advertising, public relations, and event planning.

 Skills and Abilities:

  • Significant experience marketing to state and local government with mastery of issues related to technology, tax, finance, administration; working understanding of public sector contracts, procurement terms and processes
  • Expert knowledge of Salesforce, Pardot, Microsoft Office and similar software; working knowledge of graphic design software
  • Proven ability to set priorities, balance a complex workload, with short- and long-term requirements so that key performance indicators are met for the department
  • A collaborative, communicative and customer service mindset focused on achievement

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual work station, using telephone and computer. The work is typically hybrid and there is a mix of in office and home based locations on a pre announced schedule.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
  • This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
  • The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone
