Job Overview

The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for designs and supports the creation of all communications marketing materials, infographics, and curriculum graphics. They will apply art, design, and copy layout skills to create visually engaging concepts such as logos, promotional and branding materials, communication media, and other print and digital materials. The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere at all times for AVANCE internal employees and AVANCE external program participants.

Job Responsibilities

• Designs marketing and promotional materials for the company.
• Distributes print and online marketing materials.
• Designs graphics for AVANCE.org website and social media posts.
• Collaborates with departments and/or other project participants to understand project assignment, audience, and intended message.
• Ensures that all promotional materials are aligned with AVANCE's brand identity.
• Addresses and resolves any problems that may arise with promotional content or distribution of materials.
• Create and design various materials for print and digital collateral.
• Selects fonts for written copy; produces sample layout for approval by client or other project participants

• Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule and revises projects as necessary based on collaborative feedback process.

• Establish creative direction for the company as well as brand guidelines.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget.
• Perform retouching and manipulation of images.
• Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Communications, Graphic Design or a related field ed or related field
• Major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related disciplines highly preferred.

Work Experience

Required:

• 3-7years’ experience working in the marketing and communication sector.
• Experience with website design (Word Press)

• Work is generally performed in an office environment.
• Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices).
