We are looking for a dynamic Software Engineer in Test (SET) with a strong background in Android and Linux development, utilizing languages such as Kotlin, Java, C , and Python. You will also be responsible for simple UI work, with more emphasis on complex framework integration. 

Your role will extend to developing automated solutions, contributing to our program strategy, and building software and hardware automation solutions to ensure the success of our program.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and enhancing our current lab setup to support all internal and external programs.
• Developing and implementing automation solutions to improve and extend our testing methods.
• Configuring and integrating third-party tools to streamline data collection trackers.
• Developing features for Android platform apps and Linux-based applications.
• Reviewing, submitting, building, and evaluating Android app source code and Linux software modules.
• Initiating and integrating device cameras in Android apps.
• Image manipulation and data processing in both Android and Linux environments.
• Developing and qualifying consumer-grade depth camera sensors, sensor technology including IR, and other tracking technology.

• Skills in scripting languages (Python, Shell).
• Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
• Good working knowledge of the Linux command line.
• Excellent communication, project management, and people skills.
• Ability to collect, synthesize, and evaluate product requirements from a broad, cross-functional engineering team.

• 2 years experience in mobile testing, scientific lab work, or thorough debugging experience.
• Advanced knowledge in photography.
• Experience using 3D printers and other maker space tools.

This role requires a critical thinker and problem solver with excellent organizational and time management skills. An ideal candidate would be able to "think like the enemy" to counter potential risks and anticipate new ones, and should have a strong sense of ownership with a proactive can-do attitude. Excellent communication skills and the ability to document and share findings are also necessary.
