Automotive Lift Service is Hiring a Controller Near Hanover, PA

Advantage Lifts & Automotive Lift Service are rapidly growing Companies that specialize in the manufacture, sales, service and installation of automotive lifts and garage equipment.

The Controller position will be pivotal in the continued development and implementation of a new accounting system for the Company and its subsidiaries which includes sales, service, and manufacturing divisions; assistance with the preparation of an annual budget, understanding overall performance, financial reporting of the Company, and supervision of accounting personnel. This position reports directly to the CFO and COO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger including analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Manage the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform cost accounting and other related duties for the Company.
  • Manage the analysis of Build of Materials for our manufacturing divisions.
  • Manage the process of coding invoices, setting up new accounts, reconciling accounts, and closing the monthly books.
  • Manage the process of reconciling bank accounts at least monthly, verifying deposits, and addressing inquiries from banks or other agencies.
  • Manage the process of reconciling cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manage accounts receivable collections.
  • Manage the process of customer account management including invoicing and follow-up.
  • Manage the process of verifying and/or completing payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensuring payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Coordinate and communicate with outside accountants, insurance agents, banks, and other agencies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
  • Must have at least 7 to 10 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • CPA is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or construction accounting is preferred.
  • Experience working with a manufacturing Build of Materials preferred.
  • Experience in NetSuite or a similar ERP system is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years supervisory experience is required.

  • Strong/advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Driven and self-motivated.
  • Ability to think critically and work to improve efficiency.
  • Must possess a high level of emotional intelligence and ability to prioritize and work on concurrent projects with little supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP will be helpful.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to team’s success.
  • Must be flexible in an ever-changing environment.
