Summary:

The Business Operations Analyst position will share responsibility for analyzing business data and processes, preparing analyses in Excel and Google Data Studio or Tableau, and presenting their findings to various departments. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of business analysis experience with a functional capability to use SQL and create visualizations in Tableau or other software. Retail, e-commerce, or startup experience is a plus, but not required.

This position is fully remote with service locations in all US time zones.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use Excel, Google BigQuery, Google Data Studio, and Tableau to transform, review, prepare and analyze data
• Discuss business challenges with stakeholders and translate the challenges into questions that may be answered with data
• Define financial and operational performance indicators for business challenges
• Provide insights into business challenges and ideas to overcome those challenges using data to support recommendations
• Explore vast quantities of data to identify relationships, trends, and possible storylines
• Use SQL to source data from Google BigQuery for exploration and analysis
• Create visualizations of analysis for presentation in Google Data Studio or Tableau
• Present analyses findings to various business stakeholders
• Document data sources, field definitions, and calculations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient SQL skills
• Knowledge of data structuring principles: data types, data relationships
• Strong business understanding
• Strong data visualization skills (Google Data Studio and Tableau a plus, but not required)
• Ability to document thought processes and recognize when others may interpret something differently
• Strong time management skills and ability to easily and rapidly shift priorities
• Team-oriented and able to assist others as needed
• Able to critique/quality check own work and others
• Ability to identify trends in data sets to create efficiencies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (INCLUDING CERTIFICATIONS):

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field, including but not limited to the following: business administration, mathematics, engineering, economics, supply chain, business information systems, business / data analytics
• Minimum of 2 or more years’ experience in a professional role performing similar duties
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data visualization software
• General understanding of data structure, types of data
• E-Commerce data experience (Preferred)
• Startup experience (Preferred)
