General Manager

Atwater's is looking for our next General Manager. The location is in the middle of an intense but exciting transition. We are looking for someone who values collaboration and creativity and who is passionate about good local food and excellent service.

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for providing an excellent shopping experience for Atwater's customers by performing all customer service functions. You will manage the entire staff of the Atwater’s restaurant location. The General Manager ensures a positive company image by providing “service that makes your day” to customers and modeling that service for all staff members. The General Manager contributes to the company's financial success by participating in Atwater’s Open Book program, which is a quarterly bonus program on top of the base salary.

Responsibilities(include but are not limited to):

Store presentation and operations:

• Maintain and manage the restaurant environment by monitoring store presentations, supporting brand consistency, and implementing the store strategy and action plan.
• Set up daily, weekly & monthly cleaning tasks and follow up on their completion.
• Work with other managers and supervisors to ensure each area of the store looks its best every day.
• Attend to and report equipment & fixture needs as soon as possible. Make sure the safety & well-being of the staff & customers are a top priority. Take corrective measures when necessary.
• A willingness to open or close at least twice weekly and work on weekends.
• Follow cash handling procedures and cash register policies, e.g., accurate cash handling and change reconciliation.
• Count and tally money for opening/closing.
• Create and update the daily menu in print and on Atwater's website.
• Record/write any concerns, messages, to-dos of daily activities, and irregularities in the supervisor notebook/ScheduleFly notes to communicate with the assistant manager and supervisors; and review the notebook before starting a shift.
• Responding to emergency calls in case of an emergency.
• Develop and follow a long-term budget for the store and company.

Staff Management:

• General Manager needs to lead by example by motivating the team to complete the sales process, ensure customer satisfaction, comply with company procedures, and maximize productivity and profitability.
• Take responsibility for enforcing store policies & procedures with the entire staff.
• Interview, hire, and complete paperwork required. Also, monitor staff development & conduct a job performance review.
• Creating a Bi-weekly schedule for staff.
• Must attend loop meetings, lead and coordinate the weekly development, and conduct a performance review.
• Efficiently delegate tasks, give directions to employees, and set up checkpoints to ensure the tasks are completed.
• Help develop and follow the plan for the store and company.

Customer Service:

• Welcome and connect with each customer.
• Promote customer relations through networking, staff awareness programs, staff incentives, and training.
• Educatecustomers and staff through sharing your knowledge and the use of signs and sampling.
• Be solution-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow up on customers’ complaints and suggestions.

Qualifications:

• Self-starter and passion for customer service.
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers, other managers, and customers.
• Able to balance both long-term and short-term planning.
• Able to delegate tasks and give directions to co-workers.
• Able to handle customers’ issues and concerns.
• Be prompt and on task and able to handle a high-stress environment.
• Be knowledgeable about all products.
• Working knowledge to process information and merchandise through a computer and POS register systems.
• Make rounds on-premises to manage workflow to ensure it flows smoothly in all sections.
• Stand and walk for an extended period.
• Able to reliably travel to work.

Experience: 5 years or more in the restaurant industry.

Compensation: Salary, commensurate with skills and experience. In addition to the base salary, quarterly bonuses are available.
