We are seeking a highly organized and motivated General Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Cuples Tea House and Vinyl N Pages. As the General Operations
Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of both shops and
creating an exceptional customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include a mix of administrative work, managing staff, coordinating events, overseeing inventory, and leading programming efforts.

- To free up founders to work on the business.

- Help to guide and pace the work.

- General facilities management and regular retail working hours of Wed-Sat (events as necessary)

- Team management, training, review and coach style leadership.

- Develop VNP as a local Baltimore creative space.

Compensation/Hours:

Hours will be based on scheduling and availability of support staff

- $23 an hour with room to grow.

- 22-24 hours a week

o Opening, working & closing Vinyl & Pages (VP) 11:00 am – 5 pm.

o Opening, working & closing Cuples Tea House (Teahouse) 8:45 am - 5:00 pm.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a managerial role within the retail, hospitality, or event industry.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with customers, employees, and vendors.

- Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

- Engage with social media pages in brand voice (1-2 posts on social media per shift).

- Be available to send and receive messages throughout the week regarding scheduling.

Leadership Action:

- Develop and lead quarterly 90-minute working/team building sessions with support staff.

- Provide sales coaching with support staff for both shops.

- Thursdays will act as a co-working days with senior management;

• With the intent to develop and flush out new programming/activations.
• Identify deliverables within the first 30 days, 60 days and 90-day.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Work:

o Meet weekly with Sr Management to identify key objectives for the week.

o Managing documentation and record-keeping related to events, contracts, and customer inquiries

o Responding to phone calls and emails to gauge interest in using the spaces for events.

o Maintaining clear and professional communication with customers and stakeholders.

o Maintaining google drive/google docs and google calendar.

Staff Management:

o Hiring, training, and supervising employees to ensure excellent customer service.

o Creating employee schedules and managing time-off requests.

o Overseeing weekly payroll and ensuring accurate and timely processing.

o Help guide and support entry-level new hires during their training phase.

o Delegate, ensuring successful completion of daily and weekly objectives.

Shop Operations:

o Opening and closing both shops, ensuring they are ready for business.

o Coordinating catering services for events and managing related logistics.

o Preparing orders for pickup and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

o Accurately perform/delegate front of house duties including scheduling, transactional sales, upselling, and handling customer front facing interactions when needed.

o Perform opening and closing duties including: cleaning, locking/unlocking store, receiving deliveries, cross referencing deliveries ensuring all items are included.

Facility Maintenance:

o Scheduling and overseeing regular maintenance and inspections needed at Cuples Tea.

o Collaborating with vendors and contractors to address any maintenance or repair issues promptly.

Inventory and Stocking:

o Managing inventory levels and ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained (for both shops)

o Conducting regular inventory audits and reconciling any discrepancies.

o Ordering supplies and restocking merchandise as needed.

Programming and Promotion:

o Leading programming efforts to enhance customer engagement and drive foot traffic.

o Creating and implementing promotional strategies to increase sales and brand visibility.

o Making regular posts on social media platforms to promote the businesses and engage with customers.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
