What You'll Do:

Lead Responsibilities

• Train new Custodial staff on procedures and expectations
• As a mentor, hold the Custodial team accountable in regard to contributing to a positive work environment and completing their work in a consistent and timely manner
• Collaborate with Director of Facilities to develop a Custodial performance rubric to guide evaluations
• Collaborate with Director of Facilities to develop an efficient daily routine for Custodial staff and perform walkthroughs to evaluate effectiveness and any opportunities for improvement
• Provide constructive feedback to Custodial Technicians regarding their performance and help them troubleshoot any barriers to high quality job performance
• Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Technicians to communicate repairs and orders needed
• Fill in for custodial technicians as needed

Custodial Technician Responsibilities

• Reports consistently for work as scheduled through excellent attendance and reliability
• Cleans/sanitizes rooms and facilities including but not limited to classrooms, restrooms, countertops, windows, blinds, furniture, walls, water fountains, gymnasiums, locker rooms, and other areas/items as needed and assigned
• Vacuums, shampoos, sweeps, strips, buffs, dusts, mops, etc. all floors and stairs as needed
• Removes and disposes of trash in facilities and on grounds
• Cleans hazards, including bodily fluids, spills, etc. per best practices and current regulations
• Set-up/clean-up for regular and special events as directed
• Processes and completes internal work orders
• Recognize and report safety issues in the workplace to the Director of Facilities
• Attends trainings and in-service meetings as necessary
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities

Compensation & Schedule:

• $20.15 - $23.19 Hourly
• Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
• Calendar: 245 days

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to pass required background screening
• Must be reliable and able to report to work consistently, meeting all attendance expectations
• Must be able to promote and maintain a friendly and positive environment for all staff and students
• Must have satisfactory knowledge necessary to train Custodial staff on the operation and care of mechanized cleaning equipment
• Must have a satisfactory understanding of technology to effectively input and retrieve information within the work order system
• Must be able to work independently with exceptional time management and attention to detail
• Must consistently demonstrate and value accountability, excellence, integrity, resilience, respect, and responsibility

Desired Qualifications:

• 2 years of custodial experience
• Previous experience leading a team
• Previous experience within a school setting
• Bilingual; Spanish & English

Essential Functions:

• Sits, stands, walks, stoops, kneels, and crouches/squats while performing duties
• Lifts or carries burdens weighing up to 50 lbs., and pushes and/or pulls other burdens weighing 100 lbs.
• Conducts activities involving climbing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching/squatting, crawling, twisting, and reaching utilizing a ladder or a lift
• Works with hands above shoulder height with a weight up to 50 lbs.
