Description

Atlantic American Corporation is looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator/HR Generalist. The perfect candidate possesses not only Payroll and Benefits experience, but some accounting/bookkeeping and HR generalist experience as well.

Payroll Duties

  • Gross to net payroll processing using the Paycom Payroll System for 120 employees and 2 companies.
  • Management of timesheet information to include calculation of overtime hours.
  • Setting up of new hires and processing terminations.
  • Upkeep of document management and filing for personnel records.
  • Calculation and processing of Third Party Sick Pay.
  • Process bonuses with proper deductions and taxes.
  • Upkeep of Employee Self Service and password resets in the payroll system.
  • Proper administration of garnishments.
  • Respond to requests for information regarding payroll, benefits, timekeeping and payroll accounting issues.
  • Keep up with payroll trends, maintaining current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. Reads professional literature and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Ability to communicate with confidence regarding payroll and benefit issues to all levels of the company, to include the C-Suite.
  • Respond to Payroll tax inquiries from state or federal agencies.
  • Keep up with state related tax laws for the states our employees live in.
  • Ability to run reports to pull information requests.

New Hire and termination Duties

  • Gather proper documentation from the employee when new hires and providing to employees for terminations for filing purposes.
  • Alert the proper parties for establishment of or termination of systems access and security.
  • Building tours for new hires, security badges, gym access and nameplates for new hires.
  • Intranet setup and take down
  • Scheduling photos

Benefits Administrations

  • Approving and sending to Payroll benefit choices by a new hire.
  • Terminating benefits
  • Adding to or cancelling benefits in the current benefits provider portal.
  • Process all additions, changes and cancellations in the annual Open Enrollment process. Make changes in Paycom and in provider portal.
  • Track HSA and FSA annual changes and limits and updating in Paycom. Tracking HSA Employer contributions.
  • Track Kashable loan program, explaining to new users, pulling down the file used for each payroll and making updates to the payroll system.
  • Get to know the basics of all benefit plans in order to answer employee questions.
  • Maintain Atlantic American Employee Benefits products.

Payroll Accounting Duties

  • Funding reports to Accounting each pay period
  • Monthly journal entry reports for accounting.
  • Monthly intercompany billing reports for corporate salaries and employer benefit contributions.
  • Monthly reconciliation of benefit billings to payroll system records.

HR Duties

  • Annual Service Award preparation
  • Employee of the Month procedures
  • Drug Free Workplace administration
  • Order Office Supplies
  • Work with building management for maintenance and security issues
  • Keep HR information and issues confidential.

Other essential duties and functions may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • 5 plus years of payroll experience with a mid-sized company
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field a plus
  • Accounting/bookkeeping/reconciliation background a plus
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work with all levels of employment to include C-Suite.
  • Understanding and interpretation of laws, rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of state and federals laws affecting payroll, timekeeping and records management and retention.
  • Proven ability to achieve a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Critical Thinking and ability to problem solve.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint)
  • Experience with Paycom payroll system a plus
  • CPP payroll designation a plus.
