Description

ROLE

The Business Analyst III works with stakeholders to analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, and workflow. Documents requirements and defines scope and objectives for software initiatives. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gathers requirements through interviews, surveys, observation, site visits and working with subject matter experts to determine process flows. 
  • Works remotely as needed, including video conferencing and on-site, with occasional travel to fulfill responsibilities. 
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs.
  • May analyze and make recommendations on commercially available software.
  • Documents functional requirements, business requirements, use cases, and UI and integration designs to accomplish overall business strategies.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and help manage software development and deployment projects and accomplish goals.
  • Successfully engages in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Tests, maintains, and monitors computer programs and systems, including coordinating software installation in development, test, and production environments.
  • Troubleshoots program and system malfunctions.
  • Identifies ways to expand or modify systems to serve new purposes or improve workflow.
  • Creates user documentation and trains users to work with computer systems and programs.
  • Defines the goals of the system and devises flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs.
  • Serves as liaison between business units and the software development team. 
  • Provides staff and users with assistance solving computer related challenges.
  • Participates in peer review of team members’ work.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Provides consultation on complex projects as a contributor/specialist.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience as business analyst or computer systems analyst, personally involved in information gathering, documentation, and data mapping.
  • Critical thinking, deductive, and inductive reasoning skills.
  • Excellent business reading and writing skills in English.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with team members at all levels, both technical and non-technical, and embracing principles of respect and tolerance.
  • Familiar with relational database and client-server concepts.
  • Familiar with Windows and web form application design and development concepts.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts.
  • Ability to manage projects using methodologies compatible with the company culture.
  • Highly developed sense of personal and professional ethics to protect confidential company and customer information.
