Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department (ED) team for the night shift. As an ED RN, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care to individuals in need of urgent medical attention during the overnight hours. Your quick thinking, ability to assess and prioritize patients, and decisive actions will contribute to saving lives and ensuring positive outcomes in critical situations.
Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Triage:Conduct initial assessments of patients arriving in the Emergency Department, gathering relevant medical history, symptoms, and vital signs.
Perform accurate triage to determine the severity of patients' conditions and prioritize care accordingly.
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patients' conditions, seeking assistance from healthcare providers as necessary.
Emergency Medical Care:Provide skilled nursing care to patients, including administering medications, performing wound care, and managing pain relief interventions.
Assist with resuscitation efforts and emergency procedures as part of the interdisciplinary team.
Monitor and interpret patients' vital signs, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and laboratory results, taking appropriate action based on the findings.
Collaborative Teamwork:Work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
Communicate effectively and timely with the healthcare team regarding changes in patients' conditions, test results, and treatment plans.
Collaborate with ancillary departments, such as radiology and laboratory, to facilitate timely diagnostic tests and interventions.
Patient and Family Education:Provide clear and concise explanations of medical conditions, procedures, and treatment plans to patients and their families.
Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and their loved ones during stressful situations.
Educate patients on self-care measures, medications, and follow-up instructions upon discharge from the Emergency Department.
Documentation and Compliance:Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
