The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Procurement Analyst, who under the supervision of the Senior Director of Procurement & Contracts, the Procurement Analyst will contribute to the development, improvement and execution of procurement strategies across all channels of purchasing on behalf of the YMCA of Greater New York (the Association). The incumbent will administer the Vendor Qualification process, and assist in negotiations for procurement of goods and services to increase efficiency, and reduce costs. In addition, the incumbent will support policy, procedures, and best practices for the Association’s entire procurement process.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Vendor Qualification application process, tracking, and document storage.

  • Responsible for review and management of AO department and branch agreements in the contract database.

  • Performs monthly vendor and ad hoc reporting and analyses.

  • Recommends vendor and procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Researches and recommends potential vendors, evaluates quotes and proposals, and participates in negotiations to determine the most reasonable price, terms, and conditions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Other activities and duties as needed that address the ongoing health and well-being of our staff and members.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience procurement and/or financial management experience.

  • Knowledge of:

  • Procurement techniques

  • Contract management

  • Collecting and analyzing data

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently

  • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced skill set), Word, and PowerPoint

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Oracle (Desirable)

  • Business Analytics (Desirable)

  • Workday (Desirable)

  • Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) (Desirable)
