A successful Analytics Engineer can work with teams of technical and non-technical people to deliver analytical solutions that meet our customer’s business needs.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

An Analytics Engineer is responsible for the technical success of their client implementation projects. As the technical backbone of a smallteam of people with diverse skillsetsyou will own the process of developing analytical products for our customers, receiving inputs and assistance from others on the team along the way.Our customers will rely on you as their technical point of contact within Association Analytics and will lean on you for supportduring their analytics journey.

You will work closely with business teams to identify client requirements, providing technical input and validation during all phases of the delivery process. Analytics Engineers are highly encouraged to initiate or contribute to technical projectsthatremove barriers to delivery, especially so if it would help other teams solve a common problem.

JOB DUTIES

      • Attend requirement gathering calls with customers alongside your team members and provide technical inputs as necessary
      • Work with data engineering staff to stand up ETL pipelines for new customers
      • Perform quality control checks and validations on ETL pipelines to ensure that key analytics are in line with customer expectations
      • Deploy, configure, and customize Power BI dashboards for customers
      • Fix data issues raised by customers and business teams, as reasonable
      • Communicate frequently with your team to manage workloads and ensure that projects are staying on schedule 
      • Develop custom SQL code in ETL pipelines to comply with customer business requirements
      • Develop tools to extract data from customer source systems to cloud storage systems such as Amazon S3
      • Develop tools to improve key processes and share those tools across the company
      • Develop high quality code that passes internal quality standards and contribute all code to our central source code repository
      • Leverage DevOps tools and practices to deliver high quality solutions, quickly and securely
      • Review proposed changes to code bases in Github as necessary
      • Actively seek out and seize on opportunities to improve processes and tools across the business
      • Assist with maintenance and operation tasks as necessary

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
      • Experience with data warehouse technologies (preferably Amazon Redshift)
      • Experience with data modeling concepts as they apply to data warehouses
      • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business teams
      • Self-managing with the ability to make good decisions in the absence of complete information
      • 2 years of writing SQL queries (preferably against dimensional data models)
      • 2 years doing technical work in the data domain
      • 2 years of experience implementing ETL pipelines in an enterprise setting
      • 2 years of experience building reports, notebooks, and/or dashboards in a data visualization tool
      • Experience building project plans to identify tasks, milestones, and deliverables
