Associated Fire Protection is Hiring a Fire Alarm Technician Near new york, NY

Description

Associated Fire Protection is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience installing, maintaining, repairing, testing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems, with the ability to work in both NJ and NYC locations.

Essential Functions- including but not limited to:

  • Perform installation, testing, repair, inspections troubleshooting, and programming as applicable, on all fire alarm systems as well as other types of fire protection systems and equipment as needed.
  • Complete inspection reports and repair work orders via mobile device and submit them on a timely basis.
  • Ensure that all fire alarm systems are in compliance with local and national fire codes. 
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Pull materials for jobs as required.
  • Maintain truck inventory when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and answer any service, quality or technical questions.
  • Be able to serve as a team lead and work effectively with coworkers. 
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service. 

General Functions

  • This position includes a lot of interaction with customers and coworkers. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and enjoy collaboration with others.
  • The successful candidate should read and be aligned with company’s mission statement, vision and values.
  • Depending on skill level, the successful candidate must be able to manage, lead and mentor people.

Requirements

Qualifications, Experience and Education- including but not limited to:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Experience working with Fire Alarm systems and equipment is required.
  • Experience working on other fire protection systems and equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot is required.
  • Knowledge of local and national codes and regulations is required. 
  • NICET certifications preferred.
  • NYC S98/S97 preferred. 
  • Must be able to obtain any licenses or certifications as required in the area that you are working.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer, phone and tablet literate.
  • Well organized, self-motivated, flexible and a team player.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites and locations is required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Emergency Service shifts are a requirement for this job. Qualified candidates must be able to respond to NY emergency service calls.
