Fire Alarm Specialist. Your work environment at EXP. In this role you will be a part of the infrastructure group in the Northeast market. We are an entrepreneurial, multidisciplinary firm of approximately 4,200 professionals across North America with a history of successfully delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects across North America. We are currently looking to grow and enhance our transit, rail control systems, structural, roadway, and tunneling practices and are seeking highly motivated and dynamic engineers.
What a day at EXP has in store for you - Responsible for meeting firms engineering quality levels for discipline on assigned projects
- Support fire alarm systems design, commissioning and testing
- Provide on-site extensive field survey measurements and verifications
- Perform quality assurance site visits during construction phase and prepare report
- Support design of systems from various projects-including power systems, lighting, fire alarm
- and other signal systems
- Constructability and design review, and production of electrical and fire alarm plans for engineering and construction drawings
- Work with other senior staff within Infrastructure & Transportation and other practices groups,
- as necessary, to pursue and deliver a variety of projects
What your experience looks like - Certified major Fire Alarm Systems such as Simplex-Grinnel, NICET, Harrington Signal, General Electric or equivalent
- Strong ability to interpretate contract fire alarm specifications and drawings
- 8 years experience in fire alarm system commissioning, trouble-shooting and testing
- Licensed PE in the State of New York, or ability to obtain within two years
- Familiar with NYC Electrical Code, National Electrical Code, NFPA Standards, NYC Building Code,
- FDNY Technical Bulletin and Rules, and NYCECC
- Experience in the design and commissioning of ARCS
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
- Experienced in site surveys and documenting field conditions
- Experienced with the Fire Alarm industry applications and process for approvals
- Ability to read and understand construction documents
- Familiarity with major rails/transit systems
- Familiarity with quality assurance, document control and safety requirements
- Ability to travel in both the United States and Canada up to 20%
The pay range for this role is $125,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
