Associated Clinic of Psychology is Hiring a Lead Psychiatric Assistant (LPN or RN) - Signing Bonus Near Minneapolis, MN

ACP is looking to hire a Lead Psychiatric Assistant (LPN or RN) to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality mental health care services. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating a team of psychiatric assistants, providing guidance, training, and ensuring smooth operations within ACP. Your role will involve direct client care, as well as administrative and supervisory responsibilities.
Supervisory Duties:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of psychiatric assistants.
  • Assign duties, schedule shifts, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Provide coverage for various ACP locations when needed.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
Client Care:
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to assess client needs and develop appropriate care plans.
  • Communicate messages/psychoeducation from providers to clients.
  • Process and respond to medication refill requests in accordance with ACP protocols.
  • Monitor and support clients in adherence to treatment plans, medication schedules, and other ACP services.
  • Administer injections and assist with oral swabs and UA collection as needed.
  • Document all client interactions/voicemails, or actions that were taken regarding client care.
  • Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and managing challenging client behaviors
Administrative Tasks:
  • Work with the Director of Operations / Clinic Operations Coordinator in collecting aggregate data for quality assurance and quality improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Maintain proper drug disposal procedure and documentation, in accordance with Hazardous Waste policy and procedure
Communication and Collaboration:
  • Effectively communicate with clients, their families, and caregivers to provide information, support, and education.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic care for clients.
  • Serve as a liaison between the various departments.
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings, training, and professional development activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Hold a valid RN or LPN license in Minnesota.
  • Previous experience working in mental/behavioral health, or in a similar role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team (previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant legal and ethical standards in mental health care.
  • Ability to handle stressful and emotionally challenging situations with empathy and composure.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and other relevant software applications.
