Family Support Specialist: Early Childhood (Home Visitor) –Bilingual (English/ Spanish)

Location: West County*

*Training will be in Antioch (about 5-10%), clients/home visits will be in the Richmond area

We have a rewarding opportunity for a Bilingual Family Support Specialist fluent in Spanish for our Family and Community Based Services Division. This position is responsible for providing case management and home visitation services to program clients, coordination and quality control of services. Duties You’ll Perform

  1. Manage a caseload of enrolled clients and make planned home visits.
  2. Provide resources and referrals, and deliver curriculum with each family visit to help client meet goals.
  3. Follow up with clients to ensure resource and referrals meet the clients’ needs; determine if client needs additional support or services. 
  4. Connect families to resources that will support them with providing a stable environment for their baby. 
  5. Provide families with basic child development information.
  6. Develop and maintain contacts with clients and community partners and resources.
  7. Serve as liaison between the client and community partners and resources.
  8. Support clients with translation services when needed.
  9. Learn and apply program curriculum such as Growing Great Kids, Ages and Stages, Home Safety Checks, etc. to screen children and families to determine if resources and services are needed.
  10. Document contacts with clients indicating progress on case plans and referrals to resources.
  11. Maintain on-going contact with the client as necessary to support retention in the program. 
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Your Work Experience

  • A minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education Units.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field desired.
  • Fluent bilingual Spanish verbal and reading skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills with the ability to learn and use agency-specific programs and software.
  • Attain and maintain an active CPR and First Aid license. 
  • Meet all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility; i.e. Department of Justice (DOJ) Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Report) if required to drive for this position
