Position: Payroll Manager

Department: Administration

Reports To: CFO

Primary Function:

The incumbent is responsible for processing payroll. In addition, the individual in this role will have the opportunity to use their exceptional customer service skills in assisting employees with payroll related questions 

Job Scope and Major Responsibilities:

  • Process biweekly payroll using ADP’s WFN platform. This includes payroll data entry, administering file feeds from both internal and external sources, processing self-service documents, and updating and maintaining the time and attendance tracking system 
  • Audit pre-payroll data and transmit final approved payroll files for processing..
  • Correct payroll audit errors.
  • Answer payroll-related calls from employees.
  • Process quarterly incentive compensation payments.
  • Audit, verify and approve employee self-service transactions impacting employee benefits.
  • Serve as a resource to the Benefits Manager as needed regarding benefits related questions and issues.
  • Other HR responsibilities as assigned including assistance with recruiting, training, general office management, recordkeeping, etc.
  • Compliance with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and its implementing regulations, as amended (“HIPAA”)
  • Maximize the automation capabilities of ADP payroll processing such that manual need for payroll administration is minimized.
  • Participates in a professional development activity annually.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing and procedures.

Success in this role is measured by the accurate and timely processing of all transactions as well as general assistance with other core human resources functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a payroll/benefits administration role
  • Must have payroll processing experience with ADP Workforce Now for 1000 employees
  • Experience processing payroll, incentive compensation programs and employee benefits administration
  • Experience with ADP Enhanced HR, Enhanced Benefits, Workforce Now Performance Management, and COBRA Administration preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • An Associates or BS in Accounting or Finance preferred but related work history/experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
