Ascent Classical Academies is Hiring a Director of Campus Operations Near Fort Mill, SC

Description

Ascent Classical Academies is currently seeking experienced leaders who share our passion for growing the classical education movement. New schools in South Carolina in Irmo and Fort Mill are opening in the fall of 2024. Being a founding staff member is an extremely demanding and rewarding opportunity to shape the faculty and culture of a school and build a community, leaving a lasting impact on a new institution.

Ascent Classical Academies are dedicated to delivering a content-rich curriculum in the liberal arts and sciences, with underlying principles in the Western tradition of the study of history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts. Our American Classical Education includes, among other things, the study of Latin; a rich examination of American literary, moral, philosophical, political, and historical tradition; and a school culture centered upon moral and civic virtue among students and faculty alike, with the intent of developing good citizens prepared to flourish in life. 

The Director of Campus Operations fulfills the school’s obligation to students by administering and facilitating the mission and philosophy of Ascent Classical Academy. The position is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the total operation of the school on a day-to-day basis.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Drive student enrollment to 100% through student recruitment efforts
  • Drive average daily student attendance with a goal of 97.50% and student persistence year-over-year
  • Ensure students and teachers enjoy a safe and clean building every day
  • Manage student drop, pick up, traffic flow logistics, and event management
  • Manage student recess and lunch schedules and logistics
  • Manage campus operations staff members including receptionist, registrar, and health aide among others
  • Oversee the accurate operation of the lottery and registration systems, currently using PowerSchool
  • Oversee grades in the student information system, including ensuring teachers have set up grade books correctly and completed them accurately
  • Finalize and communicate to families about completed grades
  • Manage facility use and events
  • Oversee campus Safety and Security
  • Manage Information Technology systems and maintenance requests 
  • Manage student file transfer requests between Ascent Classical Academy and other schools
  • Manage the oversight of all authorizer-required data submissions utilizing the SIS
  • Foster a strong customer-service-focused team
  • Lead process improvement projects as needed that impact operational processes
  • Protect confidentiality and maintain student records and information in a manner consistent with all applicable administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Compile and maintain electronic school records and physical student files, including grades, immunization records, health information, emergency contacts, and demographic information
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to relevant health & safety procedures.

Requirements

The Director of Campus Operations position offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a unique organization that is changing K-12 education in this country while also providing for personal and professional growth. While experience in education is not a requirement, Ascent Classical Academies is seeking team members who are passionately committed to K-12 education reform, with a combination of technical knowledge, business acumen, and interpersonal skills, but who also work well independently to achieve team goals. 

The ideal candidate will be results-driven, have the capacity to manage multiple projects and teams and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Director of Campus Operations will report to the Headmaster but will also work closely with the Ascent Home Office team.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in business, sales, customer service, or marketing
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills are crucial for success
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Achievement-oriented and diligent work ethic
  • Demonstrated professionalism; exhibited responsibility and ownership of tasks and projects
  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, are necessary for this role
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • After an offer is accepted, a satisfactory background check as required by state law and the South Carolina Department of Education
  • Dedication to the value of a rigorous liberal arts education
