Primary Function
The Maintenance Manager is an important part of ensuring that production and the facility run smoothly. The Maintenance Manager is in charge of the upkeep and maintenance of the company’s equipment and facilities i.e. troubleshooting repairs and upgrades. This position is responsible for managing the preventative maintenance system and meeting plant safety requirements.
Qualification Requirements
Must have a Technical degree or equivalent
7-10 years in a Maintenance role is required
7-10 years Manufacturing experience is required
Must be detail orientated
Must have good communication skills and ability to complete preventative maintenance reports
Mechanical/Electrical experience is preferred
Must have knowledge of basic hand tools
Experience with writing/managing maintenance budgets
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word Excel is required
Principal Responsibilities
•Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment in shop
•Perform daily and weekly inspection of facility to ensure smooth operations
•Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
•Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
•Prepares mechanical maintenance reports and records preventative maintenance performed on equipment.
•Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
•Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machine shop and weld machines.
•Delegate maintenance issues to appropriate personnel for effective resolution
•Manage the process of disposal of worn-out/damaged machinery as well as the installation of new equipment
•Conduct risk assessments to identify possible hazard around building facilities or premises
•Prepare and manage maintenance budgets in order to meet set objectives
•Conduct negotiations with third party contractors to determine the rate and terms of service for installations, inspections and building maintenance
